Trinity Force + Sterak's Gage (self.LeagueofLegendsMeta) submitted 3 years ago by ReverendHerby Indorfin NA For those that are unaware, the +25% base damage on Sterak's Gage (plus the extra 25% once it's activated) affects sheen items, making it with Trinity Force a HUGE amount of damage. Trinity Force / Lv. OP.GG is ready to strike when the iron is hot. OP.GG is releasing stats service for the all new LOL Teamfight Tactics soon!

If so, try again later. I just finished my ranked provisionals and placed Silver 3, which is precisely where I was aiming to place - though I would like to climb, and I'm learning so many things I never knew before. However I feel like I've hit a wall with some of the items, most of which I've started reading into and seeing who builds them on what champ, and the one item I can never get my head around is Trinity Force. Is there a specific role you usually build it on? What type of champs is it viable on or more specifically, what exact champs? There are so many stats to it that its a lot to take in, it really confuses me and I feel like I'm missing out because I don't know if I've ever built it properly or at an appropriate time.EDIT: Thanks everyone for the help, I think I get the general idea of it now and I should be able to build a little more efficiently:). In addition, it is generally the only damage item as it only scales with armpen(although sometimes you see brutalizer with it)The damage is base ad. So other items don't help it.

Most champions go tank after this item.Other champions who go full damage will often just go armpen + AD, and not TriForce. (Still may see it on Vi or Jarvan, they also have built in armpen)Corki is different as he basically always uses the spell blade and attackspd doesn't work too well on him as it would waste his spells.

A lot of requirements need to be met.Can you use all the stats reasonably? Meaning, do you have AD and AP ratios, do you use attack speed and crit, can you spam skills for sheen procs?

Trinity

Sometimes it can be viable even if you have no ap ratios, but then hydra/bork would probably be better. If you have really good AD ratios, then you should look to hydra. Tri also excels on champs with poor ratios because sheen proc doesn't need ratios. Also, tri is best as a rush item because the sheen proc is amazing early, but falls off hard late game once you get crit/as multipliers since it has a 2 sec CD and can't crit. This is why its really only built on jax, irelia, certain adcs etc. You basically need an auto attacking champion that also spams spells and also scales off both ad and ap, which is pretty rare. Other people answered the question pretty well already, but I thought I'd just add that triforce is also useful if you're trying to build for auto attack damage on a champ that normally only scales off of AP - Malphite or Alistar, for example. Not a meta build but could still be useful.

It can also be good on a champion like Shen, even though the mana portion of it is entirely wasted. The movement speed and phage proc are what make it so useful for bruisers that need to stick to their target. Anything that has spammable spells, generally AD. Its kind of hard to explain.Basically. Irelia and Triforce is her first item (triforce is almost always a first item) Irelia is an auto attack heavy melee.

But she wants burst (triforce) and she has spammable spells. The spammable spells i am referrring to is her ult. It procs 4 times.

You want to time her spells for sheen + auto + ult every 1.5 seconds.Kogmaw, spammable ult for free sheen procs, also weaves auto atacks.Corki spammable ult for free sheen procs, weaves autos.Ezreal, spammable Q, and his Q applies on hit. It applies the triforce damage without auto attacking again. His Qs hit hard with a manamune, and a triforce. Generally this is the likely only 'dont build triforce first' case i can think of. You go tear, sheen, manamune, triforce genrally.Jax, auto attack heavy champ, waves spells between autos, bursty. Has AD and AP ratios. The best triforce synergy in game IMO.

Trinity Fusion

When your champion can reliably proc it, and can use most of the stats well.Let's say, for example, Fizz. His Q applies on hit effects, so using it will automatically apply the Triforce damage. He uses most of the stats well, too.

His skills all scale off of AP, his Q scales off of AD, he has high mana costs so the mana is helpful, the HP is nice because it makes him just a little more tanky, the attack speed is good, and the phage passive helps him stick to targets. The only one that he can't use that well is the crit, but even then a bit of crit chance is always nice if you get a lucky crit or something. Vi./threadBut really any champion that could benefit from a little bit of each kind of stat, i.e. Several bruisers like Udyr, Hecarim, Vi, and ADC's with some hybrid abilities like Kog'Maw, Ezreal, etc.

Will benefit greatly from this item. It also depends on where you are ingame when you build it, and what your team needs. Building a Trinity Force on Nasus when you don't have any tank items yet early in the game is a questionable call, but it can provide a bit of lategame versatility or a bit of balanced damage boost for someone like Nasus, or a bruiser jungler like Vi, whose major damage output is hybrid AP/AD scaling.
